Mini Aventurine Skull

Aventurine is a variety of quartz in which there are inclusions of other minerals that give it different colors. The name derives from the Italian "for adventure", "by chance". In fact, in 1700, a Venetian worker accidentally dropped metal filings into a pool of molten glass and obtained, by chance, artificial aventurine. The most common color of aventurine is green, which is due to the presence of fuchsite mica. The presence of muscovite mica, on the other hand, gives the aventurine silvery reflections, while the presence of hematite gives it a red color (oriental aventurine or sun stone). There is also artificial aventurine (golden stone), of a reddish or greenish color, obtained by adding copper and chrome respectively to the quartz glass.
