Tumbled Heliotrope Pendant

Heliotrope is a variety of chalcedony, which, in turn, is a variety of opaque quartz, with a typical dark green color, with red spots due to iron oxide inclusions. The name derives from the Greek "hēliotrópion", a term composed of "hḗlios" "sun" and "trepein" "turn", referring to the way of reflecting the light of this mineral. Heliotrope is also known as a blood stone due to of its red inclusions which should look like bloodstains, which is why it is also erroneously called bloodstone.
