Kyanite, also known as kyanite, is an aluminum silicate. The name derives from the Greek term "kyanos", intense blue, which is the color of kyanite crystals. In ancient times it was known as distene, from the Greek "dis" "two" and "stenos" "strength", to indicate a singular characteristic: the hardness of the crystal varies depending on the direction of scratching. Kyanite, together with andalusite and sillimanite, constitutes the three polymorphic forms of Al2SiO5, of which kyanite is the high-pressure member. The presence of these polymorphic forms is used to characterize metamorphic rocks.

Metaphysical Corner
In the metaphysical world, Kyanite is known to spread tranquility and stimulate communication and psychic awareness. Kyanite does not accumulate negative energy and therefore does not need to be purified.
