Rainbow Quartz Geode

Rainbow quartz, or aura quartz, is a man-modified variety of hyaline quartz. To obtain it, the hyaline quartz samples (transparent) are subjected to high temperatures and pressures in a controlled environment and with emissions of vapors of various elements, including titanium, gold and cobalt. These vapors are deposited on the entire surface of the crystal, creating a permanent molecular bond and uniform coverage, generating various colors and, at times, iridescences.
